Iain McGrory was a Superintendent with Grampian Police, who retired in March 2011 after more than 35 years service.

 

He was appointed Head of Professional Standards at Grampian Police in May 2002 and held this post until June 2010.  He has extensive experience in the investigation and management of complaints alleging criminality and serious misconduct against police officers.

 

In June 2010, Iain was seconded to the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS), Professional Standards Business Area, where he subsequently led a small team who have delivered proposals for new regulations regarding Police Complaints Handling and Misconduct Procedures.
