Welcome to the website of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission. The SLCC was set up under the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007 to investigate complaints made by members of the public about services provided by legal practitioners in Scotland. It operates wholly independently of the legal profession, and opened for business on 1st October 2008.

Scottish Legal Complaints Commission Consultation
Under Section 39 of the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007, the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission may monitor the effectiveness of the Scottish Solicitors Guarantee Fund and professional indemnity arrangements for members of the Law Society of Scotland (the Master Policy).
SLCC intends to consult widely on the Guarantee Fund and Master Policy and information on how you can take part will appear in the news section of this website at a later date.
